In the middle of 2015, a geopolitical move hosted by
Cadaado came about in central Somalia for combining the scattered political
groups in the region to form and build a membership state to the federal
government of Somalia. With its challenges, the move met open welcome from the
average people that live and/or from both regions of Galgaduud and Mudug.
Cadaado and its community were the strength throughout
the process of state formation and now their city is the current interim center
the state operates anyway.
When I refer back for the earlier briefly – the start
stage of the process – there were prolonged negotiations based on political
power distributions among the stakeholders as each of them is trying harder to
fetch a suitable power position to the community that they are representing to.
From the state leader to the capital city, speaker of the parliament and the
deputy state leader, all occupied by non-Cadaado representative officials.
Don’t forget that Cadaado community was one of the important pillars that begun
the state formation among others without them much progress couldn’t be
achieved or the time taken could be longer than a period the process had taken.
The Noble Sacrifice
As the state process formation slightly begun what seem
squabbling condition, Cadaado representatives with its residents backed behind desired
for holding the state center. It was an important political power position that
could bring extensive compensations like economic development, urban increase,
and social cohesion and so on with many other indirect progresses like
community cuteness but that desire wouldn’t come true after some stakeholders
stand far corner to achieve same target as Cadaado or receive the state center
unless they’ll dispense from the process.
After this bottle neck, HE president Hassan Sheikh
Mohamuud made a big decision citing Galgaduud region’s leading city as the state
center without negotiating to other partners especially representatives from Cadaado
community.
After the president’s decision got headlined, what look
like disbelief or deli lama filled among Cadaado representatives and the city
cafes as well, but finally concluded a big sacrifice with no expected feedback
followed by the official kick off to the process in Cadaado.
Although it is beyond, the common reason behind the
process release determination made by Cadaado community is to not be an obstacle
that finally leads process break or failure and to respect national president
as their noble guest.

The Rollback from Same former Sacrificed Community in a
Same Location
In July 2015, Galmudug’s first leader was selected by
the regional parliament in Cadaado which meant that central Somalia regions
will finish chaotic time that lasted after the collapse of central government.
The leader assembled his cabinet as Galmudug’s formation process finished
despite some challenges.
A
defeated contester
First Round
Cadaado was amongst places that 2016 electoral process
was held as some federal parliament and upper house members were selected after
a big competition in some seats. The defeated contesters some returned back
their normal lives and accepted the defeat, some sat their angry with no
ability of action while others decided to do an act of feedback.
In January 2017, some of Galmudug’s parliament claimed
for irresponsibility and lack of desire for achievement to the selected
regional leader and decided to launch a motion campaign. In here, the
facilitator who’s is backing behind the scene is a defeated contester having
sophisticated competent doers of Cadaado resident –without them nothing could be completed –. Finally, a vote of no
confidence is done and the facilitator now is the new leader.
Second Round
In April this year, another selection has been organized
in Cadaado for Galmudug’s second leader assortment from three competitors. Naturally
two of them defeated but the interesting story is after a while, one from the
two had a counter attack deploying allies among Galmudug’s parliament then they
had gatherings in a hotel near the state house claiming that they sacked the mandatory
leader of Galmudug.
Again in a surprise, some Cadaado residents take the
lead in what seem an atmospheric set of violence intended to collapse already fragile
state of Galmudug.
In my conclusion, as I have discussed previous section,
Cadaado residents made a historic sacrifice for allowing the process kick off. Also
they generously hosted the guests and the different clan representatives
gathered in Cadaado. From this role model, it is unfortunate that Cadaado
residents aren’t taking an inclusive action against inhabitants who are
clearing their previous role model history of peace building and state building
and be a silent or inactive witness. This will damage their dignity and future
aspirations.
